Swim Walk December 2015

The Swim walk public Facebook group, hosted by Philip Nice, are organising a couple of swimming expeditions for December. The group now boasts over 500 members, and their events are open to anyone who fancies the challenge of some real wild winter, cold water, swimming. Not for the faint hearted, but great fun…

5th Dec – St Neots Circular walk – Cambridgeshire

7 miles, swimming in the Great Ouse with participants in Three Rivers group’s winter safari tour. Gluttons for punishment can then join that tour for their other swims of the day (Wadenhoe in the Nene and Cambridge in the Cam). Meet 8am at St. Neots railway station, Hawkesden Road, Cambridgeshire, PE19 1QF. 12th Dec – Richmond to Hampton walk – Surrey

10.5 miles from station to station. Swim in the Thames near Ham House and Hampton Pool (heated lido). Meet at Richmond-Upon-Thames mainline station at 9am.

Easiest route from Brixton is to take the underground to Vauxhall and then overground to Richmond. Takes around 56 minutes total. Alternatively from Waterloo catch either the 8:28am or 8:33 am train, arriving at Richmond just before 9am. More info click here>>
