Who is running the Lido?

There seems to be some confusion from members as to who is running our lido so we thought we would have an attempt at trying to unravel the mystery of what is going on. Here goes…

The property is owned by Lambeth Council, the appointed managing company is Fusion Lifestyle and the body set up to protect users’ interests is the Brockwell Lido Steering Group.

The Brockwell Lido Steering Group is the only body Lambeth or Fusion are contractually obliged to listen to. It is made up of local stake holders with connections to the Lido. Click here to read their constitution. One of its objectives is “To encourage and support users and others in putting forward new ideas, suggesting activities and identifying fund raising opportunities”.

Although the Lido has two sports club (Brockwell Swimmers and Windrush Triathlon Club) presently neither are represented on the Brockwell Lido Steering Group committee. Let’s hope this changes soon.

Who is running Brockwell Lido - administrative structureEvery September Fusion and the Brockwell Lido Steering Group committee meet to decide the Annual Service Delivery Plan. This is then signed-off the following February at a meeting with Lambeth.

Click here to download a copy of the current version of the Annual Service Delivery Plan. Turn to ‘Sports and Community’ page 11 to find out what will be happening in 2017 and 2018. You may spot some glaring omissions.

Another important document is the Service Level Agreement signed in 2003 when Fusion began their 25 lease. This outlines what services Fusion promise to deliver while running the Lido. Click here to download a copy.

This might seem boring, even confusing, but these details have a direct impact on how we can operate as a swimming club at Brockwell Lido.

Knowledge is power.
