Brockwell FreezeFest – Terms and Conditions for Participants

By entering the Brockwell FreezeFest cold water swimming eventall swimmers agree to the following terms and conditions:

Cold Water Swimming Risks

I understand and accept the risks associated with swimming in cold water, including but not limited to: cold water shock, hypothermia, increased risk of cardiac arrest, and swim failure due to muscle fatigue or exposure. I confirm I have sufficient cold water swimming experience to participate safely. I am over the age of 18 years.

Medical Fitness and Responsibility

I confirm I have consulted with a qualified medical professional to ensure I am physically fit to participate in this event. I take full responsibility for my decision to swim and any consequences arising from that decision.

Sobriety Requirement

I confirm that I will not swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs. I understand that doing so may result in my removal from the event.

Instructions and Safety Compliance

I agree to follow all rules and guidelines provided by the organisers and to comply with any instructions given by lifeguards, marshals, or race officials at all times. I will immediately leave the water if instructed to do so for safety reasons.

Event Cancellation or Interruption

I acknowledge that the event may be delayed, interrupted, or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control, including but not limited to lightning or extreme weather. I accept that in such cases, no liability shall rest with the organisers, and refunds may not be issued.

Photography

By registering for this event, I acknowledge and agree that photographs and/or video footage may be taken of me during the event. I consent to the use of such images and recordings by Brockwell Swimmers for promotional, publicity, reporting and archival purposes, including use on websites, social media, printed materials and press releases. I understand that these images may be used without compensation and that all rights in the images belong to Brockwell Swimmers. If I have any concerns about being photographed or filmed, I will make the event organisers aware in advance.

Liability Waiver

I hereby waive, release, and discharge any and all rights or claims for damages or injuries against Brockwell Swimmers, the Managing Company of Brockwell Lido, Lambeth Council, its officials, volunteers, and event organisers, arising out of my participation in FreezeFest, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By submitting my entry, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
