A Dip in the Dock

In preparation for our Dorset Swim Trip on the 26th we thought we would try a practice run at London’s Royal Dock on Saturday 18th August. Meet us outside Brixton tube at 8am, or at the Docks at 9am. The nearest DLR station is Royal Victoria situated just moments away from the beach itself.

Alternatively it is just a short walk from West Silvertown which lies just south of the dock. The Jubilee line connects to Canning Town which is just a quick hop across to the DLR into Royal Victoria or a brief 15 minute walk following the signs for ExCeL.

Cost will be £8 for the swim, if there are 10 or more of us we get a £1 discount. You will also need a current NOWCA wrist band (National Open Water Coaching Association). You may already have one from our trip to Thorpe Lake earlier in the year. If not, save time and order one online beforehand and collect at the Docks on the day.

The London Royal Docks open water swimming venue is an iconic setting and prides itself on creating the safest swimming environment. They test the water fortnightly and can provide wet-suit equipment to hire or buy. There is also an area to keep clothes safe.

Participants take part at their own risk and the club can take no responsibility for any injury or accident incurred. For full details click here.
