London Clubs Compete

Swimmers, supporters and spectators gathered at Brockwell Lido on Thursday evening for the annual Brockwell Club Relays, with clubs from across London coming together for a fantastic evening of competitive swimming, camaraderie and community spirit. Held from 8pm to 9pm on 21st May, the event saw teams battling it out in a fast-paced relay format that brought plenty of excitement and encouragement from the poolside crowd throughout the evening.

The standard of swimming was exceptionally high, with clubs pushing hard in every race and creating a brilliant atmosphere in the iconic outdoor pool. This year’s winners were Out to Swim in first place (again), followed by Spencer in second and Serpentine Triathletes in third. They were followed by Crystal Palace Triathletes, Brockwell Swimmers, Crystal Palace Masters, Windrush Tri, Clapham Chasers, SLSC, Hurlingham and Tiger Sharks Returns. Every club contributed to a memorable evening that celebrated the strength and inclusivity of London’s swimming and triathlon community.

A special thank you also goes to Island Chocolate, whose fantastic hot chocolate drinks proved hugely popular with swimmers and spectators alike on a cool spring evening. After the relays had finished, many swimmers and supporters continued the celebrations at The Prince Regent opposite the Lido, where Brockwell Swimmers and visiting clubs filled both upstairs bars. SwimTrek were also at the Prince Regent with a display table showcasing their range of swimming holidays and adventures around the world, helping to round off a brilliant evening of sport, socialising and community spirit.
